Katrina Carroll-Foster Appointed Director of Sales
and Marketing for Opus Hotel, Vancouver

.

Vancouver, Canada - November 16, 2004 - As a seasoned world travel, it comes as no surprise that Katrina Carroll-Foster, the new Opus Hotel Director of Sales and Marketing, is back in the hospitality industry.  Raised in Ottawa, Canada and the daughter of two parents involved in international politics, Carroll-Foster is passionate about travel and culture.

After graduating from the University of Western Ontario with an honors degree in International Relations, Katrina embarked on a cross-country road trip that landed her in Whistler, British Columbia  and in her first job as a guest services agent for Whistler-Blackcomb, North America's premiere ski resort.

After a brief experience in guest services, Katrina joined the Sales and Marketing Division at the resort, and eventually graduated to the position of Manager for the Regional and Corporate Sales Department.  As Manager of the Regional and Corporate Department, Katrina successfully implemented new and innovative programs aimed at growing skier visits and driving revenue.

In 2001, after having worked at Whistler-Blackcomb for over six years, Katrina was recruited by Hcareers.com.  As Director of Sales, the position was just the challenge she had been looking for.  Hired to grow revenues and expand Hcareers' sales team, Katrina contributed to turning the organization into what she calls "a real Vancouver success story."  Upon her arrival at Hcareers, the company had 25 sales staff.  Two years later, revenues had grown over 100%, and the sales team had expanded to over 65 staff.

Always moving forward, Katrina is delighted to be at Opus.  "I'm excited by the opportunity to work with such excellence within the hospitality industry," she said. "Opus has a dynamic, innovative team - creative, professional individuals that are leading the hospitality industry. This is a group that has the pulse of their industry, and knows where it's going.  I am thrilled to be a part of this team, and intend to build on the success already enjoyed by the Opus Hotel."

Prior to joining Opus, Katrina ran a political campaign that garnered national attention for a candidate in the Federal election.  Katrina is still actively involved in both provincial and federal politics.  She also volunteers for UNICEF, speaking publicly to elementary school children.

Opus is a stylish 97-room boutique hotel located in downtown Vancouver's fashionable Yaletown district.  A member of Small Luxury Hotels of the World, Opus Hotel provides the services and amenities of a world-class hotel within an intimate and highly personalized environment.
