The Hotel Providence Appoints Pamela Baldwin
General Manager, Citys First European-Style
Boutique Hotel to Open Late 2004

.

September 3, 2004 - The Dunfey Hotel Group of Providence is pleased to announce that Pamela J. Baldwin has been appointed general manager for The Hotel Providence, opening in the fourth quarter of 2004.

Responsible for management of daily operations during construction, Baldwin will oversee all management aspects of the citys first European-style boutique hotel upon its completion. The Hotel Providence plans 80 guestrooms and suites, a nationally acclaimed 150-seat restaurant (LEpicureo, relocating from its venerable Federal Hill location), ballroom and meeting facilities.

Baldwin is a veteran of the hospitality industry, having served as general manager for two boutique hotels in San Francisco, Marina Inn and Hotel Louise (now the White Swan). She was instrumental in the successful opening and management of both properties, responsible for creating and implementing all budgets, operating policies and procedures, and accounting control systems, as well as overseeing hiring and training of employees. During her tenure she nearly doubled occupancy rates through improvements to guest services, development of corporate accounts and the implementation of a new marketing plan.

The Hotel Providence represents an exciting alternative for business and leisure travelers visiting the city, said Baldwin. My goal is to help this unique property offer a guest experience second to none in terms of service, value and style.

Baldwin most recently served as vice president of finance and administration for Ibis Consulting, Inc. of Providence.

Nestled in the heart of historic, downtown Providences Arts and Entertainment District, The Hotel Providence is located at 311 Westminster Street at the corner of Mathewson Street. With its prime location, unmatched style, fine dining and full complement of amenities, this landmark property is destined to transform the up-and-coming Downcity neighborhood.

The Hotel Providence is being created by Stanley Weiss, a respected and successful Providence developer, in conjunction with the Dunfey Hotel Group Providence LLC, recognized within the hospitality industry for its hotel management and advisory services. Weiss, a principal in the project, has envisioned this property as a vital contributor to the fabric of downtown for more than 10 years.
