Rocco Forte Hotels Building $87.1 million
160 room Hotel in Munich

.

LONDON, England, Sept. 9, 2004 - Sir Rocco Forte has announced a new five-star hotel in the Bavarian city of Munich, Germany.  The hotel will be located in the heart of Munich in Lenbach Gärten, close to both the commercial and shopping districts, yet on the edge of the Botanical Gardens, thus providing peace and tranquility away from the bustle of the city center.

The new-build property costing approximately US$87.1 million has been designed by the architectural firm Hilmer & Sattler und Albrecht, which won the tender to develop the area currently occupied by Maximilian University. In addition to the hotel, the site comprises office buildings, exclusive loft apartments, a small square and a few retail outlets. Construction is due to finish in Spring 2007.

The eight-story hotel will have 160 rooms, including 28 suites, as well as a restaurant with two private dining rooms, a bar, a health center with gym, swimming pool, sauna and treatment rooms, and eight meeting rooms, including a ballroom that will accommodate up to 400 people for a cocktail reception.  Olga Polizzi, Rocco Forte Hotels director of design, will oversee the styling of the hotels interiors.

Sir Rocco Forte, chairman and chief executive of Rocco Forte Hotels, said, We are delighted to have secured a property in the historic, cosmopolitan city of Munich and are very pleased to have been chosen by the developer Frankonia to participate in this exciting and innovative project.  A hotel here fits perfectly with our plan to build a luxury collection of hotels in the key cities of Europe. Once finished, the hotel will be the most stylish and best-located property in the city. Together with our dedication to personalized services, we believe it will become the best hotel in Munich.

This announcement follows the acquisition of Le Richemond in Geneva on July 2, 2004 and brings the total number of operational and confirmed Rocco Forte Hotels to 15.

Sir Rocco Forte's luxury hotel collection, Rocco Forte Hotels, was established in 1996 to manage an international array of luxury properties. The companys five-star hotels have individual styles, ranging from traditional to contemporary, and each hotel reflects its location and nationality. The collection is linked under the brand of Rocco Forte Hotels, which represents attention to detail, quality and dedication to the highest levels of service.  Rocco Forte Hotels' current portfolio consists of The Balmoral, Edinburgh; The St. David's Hotel & Spa, Cardiff Bay; Hotel Astoria, St. Petersburg, Russia; Hotel Amigo, Brussels; Hotel de Russie, Rome; Hotel Savoy, Florence; The Lowry Hotel, Manchester, England; Browns Hotel, London (closed for refurbishment, re-opening 2005); Château de Bagnols, France and Le Richemond, Geneva.  Future openings include Villa Kennedy, Frankfurt (2006); Hotel de Rome, Berlin (2006); Munich (2007); and Verdura Golf & Spa Resort, Sicily (2007).
