Dubai, U.A.E. (July 2004) - The four star deluxe Traders Hotel, Dubai opened this month and debuted the Traders brand in the Middle East region.  The 250-room hotel, which is owned by the Oman-based Zubair Corporation, is managed by Shangri-La Hotels and Resorts.  The property is the sixth Traders hotel for Shangri-La Hotels and Resorts worldwide.

Operating under the same philosophies and management structure as Shangri-La hotels, the Traders brand caters toward a specific mid-market niche which complements Shangri-La's deluxe properties in key city centers, such as Dubai.

Commenting on the key markets for the new hotel, General Manager, Wolf Dieter Flecker said, "Our main market is business travelers and of course the meetings segment.  However, we also

expect to attract a share of the leisure market particularly when Dubai plays host to festivals and events."

Mr. Flecker remarked, "In a city where the focus has been on five star luxury properties for some time, we are confident that the Traders brand will be well received.   The Traders brand, particularly our new Dubai hotel, offers a vibrant and affordable hotel solution and we aim to be recognized as a hotel which provides everything a savvy traveler could desire, with sincere service from the heart."

Located in the bustling business and commercial district of Deira, the Traders Hotel, Dubai epitomizes a contemporary minimalist style, utilizing exquisite furnishings and design elements throughout.  The hotel, designed by architectural firm Badri & Bensouda with interiors by Julia Dempster of Interior Motives, features a warm and inviting lobby that provides the ideal place to meet business colleagues and socialize.  Located on the lobby level guests will also find the unique multi-cuisine dining concept known as "The Junction" and a chic evening meeting place named the "Chameleon Bar" that offers nightly live entertainment.

All of the guest rooms feature broadband Internet access, interactive TV, IDD telephone with voice mail, electronic in-room locker, private mini-bar, hairdryer and tea/coffee making facilities.   The Traders Club executive floors offer a range of exclusive privileges including the use of a private lounge, express check-in and check-out services, complimentary breakfast and purser services.

The 24-hour business center, varied meeting facilities and ballroom cater to business and social needs. Recreational facilities feature a gym, sauna, steam and massage rooms, Jacuzzi, indoor swimming pool and a juice bar.
