It will be on September 1st that the Riu Lupita will open its doors as RIU chain�s fifth hotel at Playa del Carmen on the Mexican Caribbean coast, and as its ninth hotel in Mexico (along with 3 more in Cancún and one in  Puerto Vallarta in Jalisco).

The hotel was acquired some months ago and at present is being completely renovated with new rooms, dining-room, and reception, in addition to an overall renovation of the facilities raising quality levels to the RIU brand�s high standards.

This 5-star 300-room hotel will offer all-inclusive packages, as do all RIU�s hotels in the Caribbean.

The Riu Lupita is situated beside ClubHotel Tequila. Regular transport will be provided to carry clients to and from the hotel�s Club de Playa situated on the sea front.

With this new hotel RIU's room capacity in Mexico will be near 10,000 beds. In addition, the hotel chain has started to build its tenth hotel in the country: Riu Palace Cabo San Lucas (located in Los Cabos), which is projected to open by December 2004.

RIU has built all its hotels in Mexico, with the exception of the Riu Caribe and the Riu Lupita, both properties purchased by the company.
