Jonathan Gelman Named Executive Sous Chef, 
Arizona Biltmore

PHOENIX, Arizona, July 14, 2004 -- The Arizona Biltmore Resort & Spa has named a consummate food and beverage professional the new executive sous chef. Jonathan Gelman brings to the historic property a 20-year background of senior positions with luxury hotels and resorts and premium winery restaurants.
 
In his new position, Gelman is working closely with Executive Chef Michael Cairns to manage and implement all of the resort's extensive dining operations, which range from 24-hour room service for the 730 guest accommodations to five different restaurants and lounges.

He came to Arizona's landmark "Grand Dame" from Michael's at The Citadel, in Scottsdale, where he served as executive chef of catering & banquets with responsibility for all tournament events such as the Phoenix Open. Previously, he was the owner and executive chef of Napa Gardens Catering, Napa Valley, California, which featured his menu of Napa Valley Cuisine with Mediterranean influences.

Also in Napa Valley, he was executive chef of Cuvaison Winery and banquet chef & grill restaurant chef at Meadowood Resort.

Other experience includes serving as executive chef, Monarch Bay Resorts, Laguna-Niguel, California; and pastry sous chef and sous chef of The Dining Room Restaurant, Ritz-Carlton Laguna-Niguel, Dana Point, California.
