July 6, 2004 - The Dow Hotel Company, LLC (DHC) announces that David
J. Garon, CHA and Carrie McAllen have joined the company as General Manager
and Director of Sales and Marketing at the company�s newest hotel, Holiday
Inn Select in San Francisco�s Financial District. DHC began managing the
hotel under a long-term contract on July 1, 2004, and plans a fifteen million-dollar
renovation to begin in the fall of this year. The hotel, an impressive
downtown landmark building, is owned by Justice Investors.
�We are very pleased to begin our involvement in this project by attracting such high caliber hospitality professionals,� said Randall King, DHC�s Regional Director of Operation for Northern California. �We have great plans for this hotel, and now we have great executives to enact the plans,� King continued. David Garon has over fifteen years experience as a General Manager. Most recently he was the Area Director of Operations for Wyndam Hotels, responsible for eleven hotels in the Western US, and based at The Pickwick Hotel in San Francisco. He had been with Wyndam since 1990 in various GM assignments throughout California. A Certified Hotel Administrator since 1989, he is a graduate of The University of California Los Angeles. He lives in Novato, California with his wife and children. Carrie McAllen began her hospitality sales career in the 1980�s with Fairmont Hotels. Her most recent hotel assignment was Director of Sales and Marketing for The Oakland Marriott City Center and The Oakland Courtyard by Marriott Hotel (concurrently). Previously, she was the Director of Sales for the Mark Hopkins Intercontinental Hotel San Francisco, and she has held key sales positions at The Hyatt Fisherman�s Wharf, The Hyatt San Jose and The Red Lion San Jose. She also co-founded Grass Shack Events, a meeting logistics and production firm, which continues operation in The San Francisco Bay Area.
