McCollum’s Appointment Marks the First Time a Supplier/Vendor
is Invited to Sit on New York’s  CTA Board

New York, NY, July 6, 2004 - Joe Carino, President of The CARINO Collection, announced today that CARINO’s Director of Sales, Colleen McCollum, has been appointed a member of the Board of Directors of the Corporate Travel Association of New York (CTA), the first time a supplier/vendor has been invited to sit on the Board of this distinguished group. In addition to her other duties in her new role, McCollum will be responsible for overseeing the organization’s Membership Committee. 

“I am proud to recognize Colleen’s accomplishment in receiving this appointment,” said Carino.  “She has been an important part of the CARINO Collection from the company’s inception, helping us grow to become a preeminent service provider to hotels and hotel companies.”  He concluded, “Colleen’s knowledge of the hotel industry and business travel is unique – and we know her value to CTA of New York will be as great as it continues to be at The CARINO Collection.”

About Colleen McCollum
Colleen McCollum has 15 years of hospitality industry experience, beginning in restaurants as a manager then joining the hotel industry.  In 2002, McCollum joined the CARINO Collection, and since then has performed critical management functions such as such as building the company’s international sales team, overseeing the sales process, and direct-selling in the Corporate Transient Sales Market.  
Prior to her work at CARINO, McCollum held a variety of sales positions at the Ritz-Carlton New York, the Algonquin Hotel, and the Loews Hotel New York.  She also worked as Manager of Corporate Accounts for Preferred Hotels, ending with IndeCorp selling three brands under one umbrella. 

McCollum graduated from Pennsylvania State University receiving a Bachelor of Science in Hotel Restaurant Management. She is also an active member of travel-related organizations such as the Hospitality Sales and Marketing International (HSMAI), for which she was Chairman of Special Events from 2000 to 2002.  McCollum also holds membership positions in ACTE and NJBTA.
