 Paul Gjerpen Appointed General Manager
of the Sheraton Cleveland Airport


Cleveland, OH - August 17, 2004 - The Sheraton Cleveland Airport announced today that Paul Gjerpen has been appointed the new General Manager. Gjerpen will be responsible for overseeing the daily overall hotel operations including sales, food and beverage and front office management. He most recently served as the General Manager of the Doubletree Hotel in Novi, Michigan.

Gjerpen began his career with Hyatt Hotels Corporation in 1976 in Dearborn, Michigan. He held a number of positions in the areas of housekeeping and rooms operations. Later in his career, he opened eleven hotels while he was the Director of Rooms Operations at the Corporate Office of Hyatt Hotels. During this time, he was responsible for the recruitment, staffing and overall performance of the rooms division department of over 90 hotels.

In 1987 through 1992, Gjerpen served as General Manager of the Hyatt Hotel in Louisville, Kentucky. In 1992, Gjerpen accepted the General Manager position at the Harrison Conference Center in Glen Cove, Long Island, New York where he was responsible for the overall operation of the multi award winning 55 acre, 200 room and 30 meeting room conference center.

The Sheraton Cleveland Airport Hotel recently completed a $3.5 million dollar guest room renovation. The Sheraton is an ideal location for business and leisure travelers and offers 287 luxurious new guest rooms, 22,000 square feet of flexible meeting space, creative catered cuisine and executive business suites. Other services include a business center, high-speed Wi-Fi wireless and wired Internet access, Amelia’s Restaurant, gift shop, fitness center, indoor pool whirlpool and sauna.          
Sheraton Cleveland Airport Hotel is independently owned by Hopkins Partners and operated by Oakbrook Hotels, Inc. under a license issued by the Sheraton Corporation.
