Bridget Bilinski Named General Manager
of the 1,000-Room Anaheim Marriott

WASHINGTON, Aug. 10, 2004 - Marriott International Inc. (NYSE: MAR) today named Bridget Bilinski the first female general manager of the Anaheim Marriott in California and area general manager for North Orange County.

"I am thrilled to be back in the day-to-day operations of a hotel. It's the heart of our business," said the San Diego native. "I am equally excited to be a role model for women in business. It's my greatest responsibility."

Bilinski began her career with Marriott in 1979 at the Los Angeles Airport Marriott where she held a number of positions in the areas of housekeeping, catering, and sales. Later, under the Courtyard by Marriott brand, she opened three hotels while maintaining her post as general manager of the Phoenix Metrocenter Courtyard. During this time, she was one of the first general managers on the West Coast and the first female area manager in the country. In 1994, Bilinski served as general manager of the Scottsdale Marriott Suites, which received the highest customer satisfaction scores and was the first hotel to receive Motorola's Service Excellence Award. In 1996, Bilinski was awarded Marriott's Regional Manager Leadership Award for overseeing 45 Courtyard by Marriott hotels in four states as regional manager.

Two years later at Marriott's corporate headquarters in Washington, D.C., Bilinski was named the first female vice president of franchising. As the primary liaison between franchisees and Marriott internal teams, Bilinski opened over 100 Courtyard by Marriott hotels in the U.S. and Canada.

Ms. Bilinski received her B.S. in Hotel and Restaurant Management from the Collins School of Hospitality Management at California Polytechnic University in Pomona, where she was recently presented with the Distinguished Alumni Award.

The Anaheim Marriott is located at 700 West Convention Way in Anaheim, Calif. It features 54,000 sq. ft. of meeting space, 31 meeting rooms and 1,031 guest rooms. Guests can choose from a variety of dining options, including Cafi Del Sol, offering California cuisine, Pizza Hut, Starbucks and JW Steakhouse.
