HITEC Adds Full Day of Sessions -  Monday Sessions
Will Focus on the Fundamentals of Hospitality
Technology and the Essentials of Different
System Types

AUSTIN, TEXAS; May 10, 2004 - The Hospitality Industry Technology Exposition and Conference (HITEC®) has appended a full day of education sessions to its schedule, making it a four-day program. The Monday sessions, included with a full conference registration, focus on the fundamentals of hospitality technology and the essentials of different system types. The sessions will give attendees an opportunity to be briefed on the basics and prepare them for the variety of options encountered in the exhibit hall. In addition, two special seminars will be offered * The Club Technology Boot Camp and the Sales and Marketing Briefing (both additional cost). 

The HITEC Monday Sessions include:

  • Fundamentals of Hospitality Technology
  • What Should I Look for When Purchasing a Point-of-Sale System?
  • What Should I Look for When Purchasing a High-Speed Internet Access Solution?
  • What Should I Look for When Purchasing a Telecom System?
  • What Should I Look for When Purchasing a Security System?
  • What Should I Look for When Purchasing a Property Management System?
For its second year, the Club Technology Boot Camp will provide a lively, interactive environment focusing on a wide variety of club topics and technologies. Attendees will be able to take the information they learn back to their club to help define and grow membership, enhance member relations and services, maximize Internet usage and performance, control food & beverage costs, and effectively manage grounds, maintenance, and tennis, fitness and spa facilities. The session is sponsored by the Club Managers Association of America.

The Sales and Marketing Executive Briefing will provide executives involved in sales and marketing capacities an overview of some key areas of automation. Panelists will cover four main topics: Internet marketing, optimizing sales and marketing systems, with an emphasis on sales automation and revenue management, distribution (Internet and GDS), and customer relationship management. Participants will gain a more practical knowledge of how users can get the most out of the investment they have made (or plan to make) in these technology-based systems. This session is produced in conjunction with Hospitality Sales & Marketing Association International.
