. StayOnline Keeps Military Reservists and Other Guests Connected to Home . |
Atlanta, GA May, 2004
-- Military reservists who want to stay connected with their loved ones
while on weekend duty are but one of the guest groups at the Best Western
Wright Patterson in Fairborn, Ohio that will be happy to find that the
hotel has contracted to install StayOnlines 100% wireless High Speed Internet
Access this summer.
They are really looking forward to having that high speed connection to home, said General Manager Victoria Urmey. Many of our guests have been asking for it and we are proud to offer them this very necessary amenity. The Best Western Wright Patterson is one of five CWB properties in the Midwest that is installing StayOnlines wireless Internet solution during May. Other Ohio properties are the Dayton Airport Hotel and the Holiday Inn Express hotels in Columbus and Marion. The CWB-managed Holiday Inn of Alpena, Michigan will also get the service. Theres no question anymore that our guests want and deserve a High Speed Internet connection and, after evaluating this thoroughly, we knew that a wireless HSIA solution is the only way to go, said Bill Wolfe, CEO of CWB Properties. After a bit of a struggle in the hospitality marketplace between wired and wireless solution providers, most hotels and hotel management companies are now choosing to go wireless for their High Speed Internet Access. One reason is clearly cost efficiency, said Antonio DiMilia, President and CEO of StayOnline. A wireless solution is not only less expensive to install initially, but it allows much greater flexibility so that the hotel can add other applications over a wireless network from check-in to inventory to security-without having to install another network. Now that many hotel brands are going wireless, the process of bidding for their business has become somewhat standardized, as many hotel brands have already put companies like StayOnline through a rigorous process to become approved vendors. In our case, StayOnline fit the bill perfectly because we operate within multiple hotel brands and franchises and we found that they are approved vendors for all of our hotels, said Michael G. Miller, CIO of CWB Properties. In addition, they have been in the wireless arena the longest and gave us the most professional presentation, he added. Their sales director also visited several of our properties before they even started their proposal and provided us with some good ideas up front. Not everyone did that. StayOnline was founded in 1999 to offer a fully wireless HSIA solution to the hospitality industry. The company utilizes the 802.11b platform, which is the dominant wireless networking technology in most new laptops sold today. For those hotel guests who are using an older model laptop, StayOnlines EZAirsm Plug n Play device offers a simple solution to going wireless. About StayOnline, Inc.
