Educational Institute Offers Online Distance Learning
Courses to Individuals Through CourseLine®

.

ORLANDO, Fla., June 2004 - Individuals who want to increase their knowledge of the hospitality industry can now use the Internet to take Distance Learning courses from the Educational Institute of the American Hotel & Lodging Association.

The Educational Institute has provided home-study materials in hospitality management for 50 years.  Now, through its CourseLine® electronic course delivery system, EI is offering individuals the option to complete hospitality management courses online.   CourseLine gives those with Internet access convenience, flexibility and interactivity in addition to the same high-quality, competency-based content that is the hallmark of every EI textbook.

Students who enroll in Distance Learning through CourseLine can take single courses, or work toward a five-course Certificate of Specialization in any of seven hospitality areas of study, an eight-course Hospitality Operations Certificate, or 12-course Hospitality Management Diploma or Food and Beverage Management Diploma.

CourseLine courses feature content from EI's respected hospitality management textbooks, links to related hospitality web sites, Internet exhibits, and streaming full-length video from EI's video training library. Review quizzes and the final exam are offered online, and students who pass the course receive a certificate of completion from the Educational Institute.

Pricing for Distance Learning courses accessed through CourseLine is the same as for the traditional, paper-based Distance Learning courses.  Single courses are $200 for AH&LA members and $250 for nonmembers.  EI offers a sliding scale that makes it cost effective to enroll in multiple courses-for instance, a five-course Area of Specialization costs only $180 per course for AH&LA members and $225 per course for nonmembers.  CourseLine students may also purchase a copy of the textbook for their course for only $50.

For a limited time, the Educational Institute is offering an introductory special--$50 off the price of any Distance Learning course through CourseLine.  This pricing is effective through September 15, 2004.  Refer to offer code CLSUM when placing your order.

For complete information on CourseLine, including computer hardware and software requirements and an online enrollment application, visit EI's web site at www.ei-ahla.org <http://www.ei-ahla.org> and click on "Distance Learning."  Or call 800-390-8399 or 517-372-8800 to talk with a member of our Distance Learning staff.

Established in 1953 as a nonprofit educational foundation of the American Hotel & Lodging Association, the Educational Institute is the premier source for quality hospitality education, training, and professional certification, serving the needs and advancing the excellence of hospitality schools and industries worldwide.
