Attach to the Hilton Philadelphia City Avenue
.
PHILADELPHIA, PA, April 13, 2004 Homewood Suites® by Hilton, the national brand of all-suite, residential-style hotels targeting extended-stay travelers, today announced an expected October opening of the 131-suite Homewood Suites Philadelphia City Avenue. The facility is the rapidly growing chains seventh property to open statewide and the first in the Philadelphia region.

"The need for hotels that cater to guests staying five or more consecutive nights greatly exceeds the available supply," said Howard J. Wurzak, President and CEO of the Hilton Philadelphia City Avenue and developer of the Homewood Suites Philadelphia City Avenue. "Our new facility is being created specifically to meet the special needs of these travelers. We will offer spacious, residential-style suites with fully equipped kitchens and separate sleeping and living areas that are large enough for work, study, entertaining or relaxing, for about the price of a high-quality hotel room."

Located at 4200 City Avenue, the Hilton Philadelphia City Avenue and Homewood Suites Philadelphia City Avenue are independently owned and operated under an agreement with Hilton Hotels Corporation. The two properties will be structurally connected and will feature 340 deluxe guest rooms, studios, and suites and over 35,000 square feet of meeting and banquet space. Located just five miles from downtown Philadelphia and thirteen miles from the Philadelphia International Airport, the two properties are ideally located in the western suburbs of Philadelphia, just minutes from tourist attractions, trendy restaurants, and office parks.

"The two properties allow us to provide the best of both worlds for our short-term and long-term guests. Our home-like atmosphere appeals to business travelers that stay for a few nights or longer, families vacationing with children and travelers seeking a weekend get-away retreat," said Jaret Lyons, Director of Sales and Marketing for both properties. "Guests enjoy a complimentary breakfast in the "Lodge" hospitality area, an evening managers reception Monday through Thursday with complimentary hors doeuvres and beverages, an executive business center, exercise facilities, indoor pool, and a 24-hour on-site convenience store."

Launched in 1989, the Homewood Suites by Hilton brand today has more than 130 hotels open with another 50 in the pipeline.

Homewood Suites by Hilton is part of Hilton Hotels Corporation, which develops, owns, manages or franchises more than 2,100 hotels, resorts, and vacation ownership properties.
