ORLANDO, Fla., April 2004 - Mark T. Bischoff, AIA, MHS, project manager, hospitality group, Cole + Russell Architects, Inc., is the first recipient of the Master Hotel Supplier-Design professional certification from the Educational Institute of the American Hotel & Lodging Association.

Bischoff, vice chairman of the American Hotel & Lodging Association's Allied Executive Committee, and a member of EI's Certification Commission, was a driving force behind the development of the MHS-Design designation, which was introduced by the Educational Institute this spring along with designations for MHS-Food & Beverage and MHS-Supply.

Bischoff graduated cum laude with a bachelor of architecture degree from the University of Cincinnati and is a registered architect in Ohio and Kentucky.  He is affiliated with the American Institute of Architects (AIA) and the National Council of Architectural Registration Boards (NCARB). He is a member of the AH&LA and the American Resort Development Association (ARDA). As project manager for Cole + Russell's hospitality group, Bischoff oversees the development of fully coordinated and constructible documents for hospitality projects throughout the United States.

Bischoff stated that his involvement with AH&LA and EI is a result of the commitment that Cole + Russell Architects has to the hospitality industry.

"I represent our 75 employee owners who all work very hard to bring as much value to the industry as possible," he said.  "I challenge myself every day to bring as much value to my clients as possible. This certification is another step toward making myself the strongest project team member I can be."

Established in 1953 as a nonprofit educational foundation of the American Hotel & Lodging Association, the Educational Institute is the premier source for quality hospitality education, training, and professional certification, serving the needs and advancing the excellence of hospitality schools and industries worldwide.
