POS as Corporate Standard |
SANTA BARBARA, CA - February 2004 - InfoGenesis,
a leading provider of hospitality information technology, announced today
that MGM MIRAGE has selected Revelation by InfoGenesis as their corporate
point-of-sale (POS) standard.
MGM MIRAGE plans to implement InfoGenesis at the MGM Grand, the Mirage and Bellagio resorts in Las Vegas, followed by further POS system replacements at MGM Grand Detroit and Beau Rivage in Biloxi. The project also involves conversion of existing InfoGenesis locations at New York-New York and TI (Treasure Island) to an enterprise POS configuration. MGM MIRAGE will have their food and beverage operation for all locations throughout the United States running as a single POS solution in their Las Vegas data center, by the first quarter of 2005. "We chose Revelation for all of our food and beverage operations based on previous experience with installations at TI and New York-New York, and because it allows us to run all of our resorts as a single enterprise POS system," commented Glenn Bonner, CIO of MGM MIRAGE. More than 1,000 IBM SurePOS POS terminals connected real-time to a clustered application and database solution will become the world's largest POS solution. This will allow MGM MIRAGE to shut down property-level data center operations and operate 200 outlets of all descriptions and sizes as a part of a single system. |
