at HSMAI Travel Awards Night Gala Dinner
Jan. 26,  2004
TravelCLICK to  Present Awards in Six Categories

Chicago, IL (January  5, 2004) -  Excellence in hotel industry eMarketing will be recognized  again this year at  the HSMAI Travel Awards Night when TravelCLICK  presents the 2003 "eMarketer of  the Year Awards."

Awards  will be presented for the top electronic marketing by individual  hotels in four regions: North America, Latin America, Europe/Middle  East/Africa,  and Asia/Pacific. In addition, there will be an award  for the top Chain/Brand  eMarketer worldwide. One of these five  category winners will be named the  overall eMarketer of the Year  at the HSMAI Travel Awards Night Dinner on January  26, 2004 at  the Marriott Marquis in New York City.

The criteria used to  select the 2003 eMarketer of the Year include the amount  of growth  in revenue from bookings generated from property, brand, and third  party Web sites, as well as competitive electronic revenue performance  from the  GDS. The eMarketer award winners will be selected based  on a combination of  their excellence in both GDS and Web site  e-commerce.

"Over 19 billion dollars in revenues were generated  worldwide in 2003 for  hotel rooms booked electronically," said  Bruce W. Mainzer, senior vice president  of marketing for TravelCLICK.

"Hoteliers who deploy successful e-marketing rely  on smart control  over all electronic distribution sources. The TravelCLICK/  HSMAI  eMarketer of the Year Awards recognize the best e-commerce initiatives  in  the worldwide hospitality industry."
