John Luke Named General Manager
of the 821-room Hilton Minneapolis

BEVERLY HILLS, Calif., January 28, 2004 � John Luke has been named general manager of the 821-room Hilton Minneapolis.  Luke most recently served as general manager of the Hilton Pasadena, a position he has held since 2000.  He reports to Kenneth Smith, senior vice president Hilton/Doubletree Mountain-Central Region.

A 21-year Hilton veteran, Luke began his career as a management trainee at the Hilton Chicago and the Palmer House Hilton. Luke was then promoted and held director of front office operations positions, serving at Hilton's airport properties in Atlanta, San Francisco and Los Angeles.  In 1989 he relocated to New York as executive assistant manager of the Waldorf=Astoria, a position he also held at the Hilton New York, before joining the corporate office as regional director - front office operations in 1991.  He was promoted to vice president - front office operations & systems in 1995.  In that position, Luke was responsible for the implementation and training of all Hilton front office and reservation team member to use Hilton Reservations Worldwide new reservations system, HILSTAR �.  Luke has also been responsible for a number of Hilton firsts, including front office implementation of a Smart Card pilot, self-service kiosks for check in and check out and mobile wireless check in and check out solutions.  He joined the Hilton Pasadena in 2000 as general manager where under his direction the property was awarded the Hilton "Million Dollar Pride Award" for achieving all value drivers on their hotel balanced scorecard.  Numerous Circle of Excellence Awards were also earned for best overall RevPar Index, Customer Loyalty and Team Member Loyalty.

A native of Michigan, Luke received a bachelor�s degree in business administration and an associate degree in hotel/restaurant management from Northwood University in Midland, Michigan.
