Hyatt International and Bang & Olufsen Form Worldwide Strategic Alliance

Due to Hyatt International's distinct aesthetics and design for each of its luxury hotels and Bang & Olufsen's unique line of impeccably designed audio, video, and telecommunication products, the two have strategically aligned to enhance their respective brands globally and provide guests with a state-of-the-art experience abroad. This partnership will exceed the simple buyer-supplier relationship as cooperative marketing initiatives, and design projects will be implemented globally -- in North American Park Hyatts and in Hyatt International Hotels and Resorts worldwide.BangOluf

Bang & Olufsen will supply acoustical expertise and speakers to restaurants, bars, and public spaces in Hyatt International hotels. Guest rooms in Park Hyatt Hotels will feature specially designed televisions, hi-fi equipment, (including DVD/CD players), and integrated systems for the delivery of select in-house guest services; this will also apply to Grand Hyatt suites. They will be designed specifically to complement each individual guest room.

The companies' first exclusive collaboration was for the August 2002 opening of Park Hyatt Paris-Vendome, a mutual success leading to the present ongoing affiliation. Park Hyatt Milan, Grand Hyatt Tokyo, Park Hyatt Moscow, Park Hyatt Hamburg, and Park Hyatt Chicago now also offer Bang & Olufsen products, and plans are underway for Grand Hyatt Singapore and Grand Hyatt Mumbai.

"By combining the best possible sound and picture equipment with the hotels' sleek, sensual interiors, we hope to provide our guests with an interpretation of luxurious living more memorable than ever before," says Bernd Chorengel, president of Hyatt International Corporation. "Ideally, our aim is for guests to take this concept home to create their own optimum environment for day-to-day living."

"People today travel much more -- for business and pleasure -- than just a decade ago, and when on the move, being comfortable, relaxed, and pampered is vital," explains Torben Ballegaard Sorensen, President and CEO of Bang & Olufsen. "Hyatt International Hotels are unique at conveying this feeling to their guests, and combined with our goal to make life easier for our customers, I believe that the cooperation between Hyatt and Bang & Olufsen will enable both corporations to pursue their goals even more rigorously."
