Frederick Maclean Appointed Executive Assistant Manager,
The Radisson Plaza Resort Tahiti
PAPEETE, TAHITI � January 5, 2004 � The Radisson Plaza Resort Tahiti, set to open in June 2004, announces the appointment of Frederick Maclean as executive assistant manager.

Reporting directly to general manager Philippe Guitton, Maclean�s immediate responsibilities include sourcing operating equipment and preparing the operating budget.  He is also responsible for establishing food and beverage standards, front office, housekeeping and security management, and overseeing the day-to-day operations of the hotel.

Prior to joining the Radisson Plaza Resort Tahiti, Maclean served as the director of food and beverage for Hayman Island � one of the Leading Hotels of the World, located in the Great Barrier Reef of Australia.  He has also served as the director of food and beverage for the Radisson Treetops Resort and the Radisson Reef Resort in Port Douglas, Australia.  With 25 years of experience in the hospitality industry, Maclean has been an integral part of the opening teams of hotels and restaurants including the Le St. Tropez Restaurant, Le Club Papillon, and  Le Benitier Restaurant in Darwin, Australia, and the Tanjung Aru Beach Hotel in East Malaysia.

General manager Philippe Guitton said, �We are pleased to bring Frederick on board at the Radisson Plaza Resort Tahiti.  His extensive experience in hotel and restaurant openings will prove invaluable as we prepare to open the island�s only five-star resort on the eastern shore.�

The Radisson Plaza Resort Tahiti, the first upscale hotel to open in Tahiti since 1997, is the only hotel adjacent to Lafayette Beach, a black sand beach spanning 2,600 feet.  The 165-room resort consists of 86 ocean-view rooms, 53 suites and 26 duplex suites.  All rooms overlook the water with scenic views and large balconies.  The resort will feature an all-day dining restaurant, a pool bar, a terrace bar, large conference and function facilities, a state-of-the-art spa and health club and will also offer an array of water sports.
