Hotels & Resorts, Inc. today announced its selection as the new management
company for the 252-room Plaza San Antonio, a Marriott Hotel.
The property was recently acquired from Host Marriott Corporation by Highland Hospitality Corporation (NYSE: HIH), a Virginia based, self-advised lodging real estate investment trust (REIT) focused on hotel investments primarily in the US. The property will continue to operate as a Marriott Hotel.
The hotel will undergo a comprehensive renovation of its guestrooms, lobby, restaurant and bar. The renovation is being phased in throughout this year to insure continued attention to customer service.
Crestline Hotels & Resorts’ portfolio of managed hotels includes many high quality urban hotels and conference centers operating under well-known brands such as Marriott, as well as independently. The world-class hotel and convention facility is situated on more than 6.2 acres of landscaped grounds near San Antonio’s famed River Walk. It is directly across the street from the city’s convention center, and provides convenient access to the downtown financial district and the Alamo Dome. In addition to more than 16,000 square feet of meeting space, the hotel offers such amenities as a sauna and whirlpool, a heated outdoor swimming pool, tennis courts, the Anaqua Grill restaurant and the Palm Terrace Lounge, and complimentary transportation to the downtown financial district for overnight guests.
