Thayer Interactive Group Announces Significant Investment in Clients’ Success; TIG Seeks Senior Hospitality Executives
to Manage Relationship and Channel Education

WASHINGTON, D.C. – February 2, 2004 – Thayer Interactive Group (TIG), a leading hospitality online marketing firm, announced today that it is seeking senior hospitality executives to lead and manage its client revenue-enhancement initiatives, Internet channel education, and overall service and sales development.
“TIG has grown significantly during the past three years as a result of proven revenue impact, leading to preferred-provider designations with several major hotel brands, management companies, and ownership groups,” said Frederic W. Malek, TIG chief executive officer.  “With the Internet fast becoming the largest revenue segment, there is a tremendous need to educate our client base to ensure effective online strategy and optimized revenue production.  By hiring senior executives to work proactively with senior property and corporate staff, our clients will be in the most favorable position to capitalize on this tremendous growth opportunity. This investment will allow TIG to reach out to transient, leisure, meeting, and social groups with even greater success, in order to provide our clients with dramatically increased revenue at the lowest distribution costs.”

The Internet continues to expand as a source of revenue for the hospitality industry.   In 2004, 16 percent of all revenue in the hospitality industry will be generated directly from online room sales, up from 12 percent in 2003.  Industry research firms estimate that a full 25 percent of all hotel bookings will originate from the Internet within the next three years.
“Because the Internet is evolving at such a rapid pace as a distribution source, knowledge of the channel and industry best practices is critical to increase – or even simply maintain – market share,” said Trip Schneck, TIG president.  “Thayer Interactive Group offers the highest level of hotel online marketing service, by combining a proven track record of results with an intense focus on client support and Internet channel education. We understand the hotel business and know how to leverage the online distribution channel for maximum revenue.  We believe that the complete satisfaction of our clients is crucial to our business, and we work closely with staff members at the property level to ensure consistent results.”

Open positions at TIG’s senior-management level include: (1) relationship managers, to focus on new development and client revenue enhancement initiatives, (2) regional operations managers, to build and foster existing client relationships, and (3) brand corporate managers, to manage relationships with corporate-level staff within particular hotel-brand and management organizations.  Candidates must have significant hospitality experience and proven success at the director of sales, general manager and/or regional level. Resumes should be directed to with the subject heading “TIG Client Relationship Development.”

“Our account-service team works closely with a hotel’s marketing staff, to maximize every opportunity to reach out to Internet customers within the property’s local and regional market,” Malek said.  “In addition to delivering the highest ROIs in the industry, we act as educators in the online marketing process, to ensure growth and development as partners in our clients’ success.”
TIG’s full-service offering includes website development and content management; search engine optimization and pay-per-click marketing; strategic link partner marketing and online advertising; detailed reporting and analysis; and proactive client support.  The company’s online marketing strategy produces an average of $500,000 to $2 million per client, depending on the market and property ADRs.  The firm works with properties that range in size and type from 100-room mid-priced hotels to 1,500-room luxury resorts.  Its program continues to produce strong results for leisure and transient markets, urban and suburban locations, resorts and convention properties, and branded and non-branded hotels.

Thayer Interactive Group (TIG) is a full-service Internet marketing firm designed to maximize online revenue and minimize effort for its hotel clients.  The company’s clientele ranges from branded and franchised hotels such as Choice Hotels, Hilton, Marriott, Six Continents and Starwood properties, to family-owned, independent hotels and resorts.
