Marriott Surpasses 1,000 Hotels With
High-Speed Internet Access

Largest Distribution of High-Speed Internet Access in the Hotel Industry

# WASHINGTON, Oct. 28, 2003 - Marriott International, Inc. (NYSE: MAR) announced today that more than 1,000 hotels worldwide have been installed with high-speed internet access, representing the largest distribution of high-speed internet access in the hotel industry. Marriott hotels in major business travel destinations, including New York, Washington, D.C., San Francisco, Chicago, London, Frankfurt, Tokyo, Singapore, and Hong Kong now offer high-speed internet access. The service is available at Marriott, Renaissance, Courtyard, Residence Inn, TownePlace Suites, Fairfield Inn and SpringHill Suites hotels. 

"High-speed internet access is one of the most common requests at Marriott's worldwide reservations centers. It is increasingly available at work and at home and business travelers aren't willing to compromise a fast connection when they travel," said Lou Paladeau, Marriott's vice president of technology business development.
Marriott's High-Speed Internet Access Services Include:

"WIRED FOR BUSINESS®" -- High-Speed Internet Access Combined with Unlimited Local and Long Distance Calls for $9.95

Marriott expanded "Wired for Business(R)" to more than 180 Marriott and Renaissance hotels in the U.S.  "Wired for Business" offers guests in-room high-speed internet access and unlimited local and long distance phone calls within the U.S. for $9.95 per day.

Free High-Speed Internet Access

Courtyard by Marriott is offering free high-speed internet access in the guestrooms of more than 330 hotels throughout North America.  Installation of free high-speed internet access is currently being completed at an additional 225 Courtyard hotels.  Marriott's other select-service and extended-stay brands including Residence Inn, TownePlace Suites and SpringHill Suites will begin offering free in-room high-speed internet access by year-end 2003.  Fairfield Inn plans to provide free in-room high-speed internet access at over 500 hotels by year-end 2004.  In total, more than 1,700 select service and extended stay Marriott properties will offer free in-room high-speed internet access.

Wireless High Speed Internet Access Rollout Completed at Nearly 600 of Marriott's Hotels

Marriott announced that it has completed its initial rollout of wireless high-speed internet access to nearly 600 hotels in the U.S., Canada, U.K., Qatar, Czech Republic, Puerto Rico and Germany.  It is the largest deployment of wireless high-speed internet access in the hotel industry, bringing wireless service to guests staying at select Marriott, Renaissance, Courtyard, Residence Inn, TownePlace Suites, Fairfield Inn and SpringHill Suites hotels.  Wireless high-speed access is available in hotel lobbies, meeting rooms and public spaces.
