Marriott International, Inc. Plans a 204-room Courtyard by
Marriott in Harlem; the First Nationally
Branded Hotel in Harlem
WASHINGTON, Oct. 23, 2003 - Marriott International, Inc.  (NYSE: MAR) announced today plans to open a 204-room Courtyard by Marriott in Harlem.  The Courtyard will be the first nationally branded hotel in Harlem, and will be located on the corner of 125th Street and Park Avenue, adjacent to the Metro North train station. 

Construction is expected to begin in Feb.  2004, and the hotel is scheduled to open in Dec. 2005. 

The project is part of a new 585,000-square-foot mixed-use development that will include office and retail space. The Courtyard Harlem will be managed by Marriott and owned by 1800 Park Ave. LLC.

The hotel will occupy fourteen floors of an office and retail tower.  Guest facilities and services will include a lounge, swimming pool, exercise room, guest laundry and business center.
