Alberico Penati, Executive Chef at Londons Harrys Bar, Opens
Restaurant at Rocco Fortes Hotel Amigo in Brussels
BRUSSELS, BELGIUM, Oct. 23 2003 - Rocco Fortes Hotel Amigo in Brussels is pleased to announce the opening of a new Italian restaurant, Bocconi, meaning tasty bites.  The new concept has been developed by Alberico Penati, Executive Chef at Londons Harrys Bar, who has created the menu and recruited a new Italian team in the kitchen, including chef Giuseppe Colella, who was previously based at the Four Seasons Hotel in Milan.  Penati previously acted as restaurant consultant for Carpaccio, the Michelin-star restaurant at the Royal Monceau Hotel in Paris, and at Flavio Briatores restaurant, Billionaire, in Sardinia.

The new menu offers simple, authentic Italian cuisine using fresh Italian produce served in an inviting and contemporary Mediterranean atmosphere.  The restaurant décor features cheerful colors on the walls and framed hand-painted porcelain plates created by Piero Fornasetti.  Bocconis Mediterranean-themed cuisine is also available within the hotels room service and banqueting menus.

Sir Rocco commented, Brussels is the gastronomic center of Europe.  In creating Bocconi we look forward to providing a different style of cuisine than that which is widely available in the city center, both for local residents and our guests.

Rocco Forte Hotels took over the management of the five-star Hotel Amigo in January 2000.  The hotel, which has just completed a US$14.25 million refurbishment, earned its entry as a member of The Leading Hotels of the World.  Renovations include new bedrooms, new lobby and entrance, new brasserie-style restaurant and bar on the ground floor, new conference rooms and a new fitness center.  Hotel Amigo is situated in the heart of Brussels, next to the picturesque Grand Place, whose architecture provides one of the most beautiful town squares in Europe.

Sir Rocco Forte's luxury hotel collection, Rocco Forte Hotels, was established in 1996 to manage an international array of luxury properties. The companys five-star hotels have individual styles, ranging from traditional to contemporary, and each hotel reflects its location and nationality. The collection is linked under the brand of Rocco Forte Hotels, which represents attention to detail, quality and dedication to the highest levels of service.  Rocco Forte Hotels' current portfolio consists of the Balmoral Hotel in Edinburgh, The St. David's Hotel & Spa on the waterfront of Cardiff Bay, Hotel Astoria in St. Petersburg, Russia, Hotel Amigo in Brussels, Hotel de Russie in Rome, Hotel Savoy in Florence, The Lowry Hotel in Manchester, England and the newly acquired Browns Hotel, London.
