Sandals Resorts Expanding the Sandals Antigua
Resort & Spa at Estimated cost of US$25 million

St. John, Antigua.  (OCTOBER 30, 2003) � With two major Sandals Resorts construction projects underway in Jamaica, the highly contagious expansion bug has spread to Antigua. At a luncheon in Antigua today, Gordon �Butch� Stewart announced the undertaking of building a brand new wing at the Sandals Antigua Resort & Spa that will include more rooms and entertainment options all in a Mediterranean Village-themed area. With an estimated cost of US$25 million, the new structure at Sandals Antigua Resort & Spa joins Sandals Whitehouse (opening Fall 2004) in Westmoreland, Jamaica and Dragon Bay (opening in December 2004) in Port Antonio, Jamaica as proof of the company�s continued commitment to expanding tourism in the Caribbean. 

�Today, I am delighted to introduce plans on the Mediterranean Village at Sandals Antigua, reaffirming Sandals Resorts commitment to creating the ultimate resort for honeymoons and romance,� said Gordon �Butch� Stewart, chairman of Sandals and Beaches Resorts. �The Mediterranean Village will offer more suites and entertainment choices to an already wonderful Sandals resort.� 

The new Mediterranean Village at Sandals Antigua will feature 90 new Junior Suites along with 10 luxurious Executive Suites and 14 plunge pool suites. A new Italian restaurant similar to Sandals Grande St. Lucian will host up to 150 guests each evening and will offer outdoor dining under the Caribbean sky. A brand new Cricketers Pub will give sports lovers their very own bar straight out of London serving up local and imported ales. Retail space including craft shop, gift store, cigar shop and jewelry store will keep travelers entertained for hours. 

Sandals Antigua Resort & Spa, located on Dickenson Bay, was recently was awarded a Five Star Diamond Award by the American Academy of Hospitality Sciences. The resort is patterned after a Caribbean Village and is one of the most popular destinations for honeymooners in all the Caribbean. Tropical gardens, multiple pools and Sandals Signature Spa add to the luxury and romantic ambiance of the resort. 

Sandals Resorts is the largest operator of luxury, ultra-inclusive resorts in the Caribbean. Sandals has a total of 11 couples-only properties, including six in Jamaica, three in St. Lucia, one in Antigua and one in Nassau, Bahamas.
