Customized Online Direct Mail System
DENVER (Nov. 21, 2003) – Incite Response has launched PressStart, a new, online direct mail management system that makes sending high-quality, personalized, printed direct mail as easy as sending an e-mail message.

PressStart ( is the first easy-to-use Web interface that lets direct mail marketers create and launch fully customized mail campaigns in seven simple steps:

  1. Name the campaign and select the mail drop date and postage class
  2. Choose from a library of custom mailer templates and custom photography
  3. Type in the offer and copy
  4. Type in the call to action – phone, Web address, e-mail or any other method
  5. Upload the mailing list
  6. Choose the preferred method of proofing: online PDF or press sheet
  7. Get a response
PressStart lets marketers design and order their custom printed projects from their desktop in minutes, eliminating both time-consuming trips to the printer and complicated coordination of multiple vendors. Each project uses the client’s own custom mailer or brochure designs and unique photography, rather than relying on pre-produced templates that risk embarrassing duplication of another company’s mailer. Marketers can buy lists or upload their own.

“We’ve found that many clients produce ‘micro-mailings’ of under 1,000 pieces, and PressStart is a way to make those projects fast and efficient,” said David Metze, president of Incite Response. “Now marketers can produce these mailings off their desktop, on the fly.”

PressStart has no minimum order quantity. Turnaround is as fast as 14 days, allowing for last-minute offers. Incite Response’s address services include address standardization, address cleanup and return mail processing to avoid mailing to undeliverable addresses a second time.

For small, frequent mailings, PressStart’s “copy campaign” feature allows users to duplicate an entire campaign and add slight variations. Marketers can schedule customized monthly mailings to the same list of recipients in just a few minutes.

PressStart also allows users to integrate Incite Response’s MYLINK personalized URL. MYLINK, which Incite Response created in April, places the recipients’ names right in the URL and directs them to individual Web pages that are personalized with their interests and information.

In addition to mailings, customers can use PressStart to produce brochures on an as-needed basis. Because there is no minimum order, clients can order only what is needed, reducing waste and outdated marketing materials.
