for the 190-room Daufuskie Island Resort
DAUFUSKIE ISLAND, SC - December 11, 2003 - Jeff Homad has been appointed director of sales and marketing for the 190-room Daufuskie Island Resort & Breathe Spa, according to Darren Smith, managing director of the exclusive island resort.

Homad brings more than 21 years of hospitality sales experience to Daufuskie and was most recently the director of sales and marketing for the newly renovated 237-room Sofitel Lafayette Square Hotel, in Washington D.C.  As director of sales and marketing for Daufuskie, Homad will be responsible for directing and implementing the overall sales effort for the resort as well as overseeing the advertising and public relations strategies.

“We’re pleased to have Jeff on board to direct our sales and marketing efforts,” said Smith.  “His extensive experience and established contacts in multiple markets will play a key role in helping to redefine the resort’s market segments and penetrate additional markets that have gone untapped.”

Homad has held similar positions at various resorts throughout the country including the Wild Dunes Resort in Charleston, South Carolina, and the Fairmont Scottsdale Princess in Scottsdale, Arizona.  He spent a number of years with Omni Hotels, Sheraton and Hyatt as well.  He received his Bachelor of Science degree in finance from Central Michigan University.

Managed by Tiburon Hospitality Management, the 190-room Daufuskie Island Resort & Breathe Spa features four restaurants, two championship golf courses, a full-service spa, equestrian center, three pools, club memberships, real estate opportunities and an array of other recreational activities.
