Hostmark Hospitality Group Preparing to Open
Flagship Amalfi Hotel Brand in Chicago
CHICAGO, Dec. 11, 2003 - Hostmark Hospitality Group will launch the first flagship high-end Amalfi Hotel Brand in Chicago's River North, scheduled to open in early 2004. The new boutique hotel is steps from the city's most acclaimed restaurants, galleries and shopping.

The innovative Amalfi Hotel Chicago is designed with an Italian flair to provide an experience like no other.  Staffed by service performers who understand Chicago and why people visit and travel - Amalfi Hotel Chicago delivers savvy attitude, style and a sense of confidence to every guest.

"With its history, culture, art and restaurants, Chicago presented itself as a perfect place to launch the Amalfi brand," said Tim Pigsley, vice president of marketing for Hostmark Hospitality Group. "We look forward to identifying future cities in other major markets to bring the Amalfi experience to life."

The first Amalfi Hotel addresses a void within the hotel industry, offering a unique marriage of everything a guest needs and nothing a guest does not.

Experience Designers, Impressionists and More

Each service role is uniquely named to make non-tradition a tradition.  From Experience Designers to Convenience Architects, each member of Amalfi's team brings the Amalfi experience to life.

  • The Amalfi Hotel Chicago experience begins with individual Experience Designers (concierges) the moment a reservation is made to the hotel - a relationship is forged.  It continues with individual attention 24 hours a day, to address any need from the panic call of desperation to rearrange a client dinner or changing travel plans for an important client.
  • Impressionists (doormen) are also on-hand to ensure a memorable experience from the first to the last impression.
  • Comfort Stylists (housekeeping) to make certain every guest need is attended to, providing a place more like home.  For example, beds are typically turned down on the right, however, if the comfort stylist notices the guests use the left side of the bed, they will turn down the bed on the left side for the remaining nights.
Urban Oasis

Featuring a residential atmosphere in the each of the 215 guestrooms and a personal, unique style throughout the hotel, guests are guaranteed the reliability and superior level of business amenities and services which business travelers require. Amalfi Hotel Chicago guest rooms will include luxury pillow top king and queen beds, fully stocked honor bar, in-room DVD/CD players, high speed Internet service, Aveda bath products and multi-head showers.

Among the guest facilities planned at the Amalfi Hotel Chicago are a non-traditional welcoming lobby for relaxing and socializing; an intimate lounge located on the sixth floor open throughout the day, along with a cocktail reception each evening.  As part of the Amalfi brand experience, a Libation & Leisure Artist will be on hand to pour top-shelf liquor and signature drinks, helping to create the Amalfi experience that will leave guests glowing for days.  Additionally in common areas on each floor, a complimentary breakfast of fresh fruit, pastries and gourmet coffee will be on hand for guests to enjoy.

In-Room Dinner, Chicago Style

Amalfi Hotel Chicago guests can enjoy a true Chicago dining experience; the in-room service features specialties from local favorite, Harry Caray's Restaurant.  House specialties include prime aged steaks and chops, chicken Vesuvio, calamari, a full line of pastas and an award-winning wine list.
