 Omni Hotel at CNN Center Boosts Sales and Catering Management in Anticipation of Expanding to 1,067
rooms and 120,000 square feet of Meeting Space

ATLANTA (July 22, 2003) - The Omni Hotel at CNN Center in Atlanta announced the addition of a director of convention services, director of catering and two national sales managers to its staff.  The hotel is hiring in preparation for a new $100 million, 28-story tower opening November 2003. The expansion is expected to create approximately 400 new jobs in downtown Atlanta, a rarity in a down turned economy.
 
Heading up catering and convention services will be Mo Ihsan, Jr. and Brandy Bechthold. 

With more than 15 years of experience in the national and international hospitality industry, Ihsan will serve as the director of convention services. Ihsan has produced large scale conventions and events in Washington, D.C., including presidential inaugural galas and international diplomacy summits. Prior to joining the Omni Hotel at

CNN, Ihsan played a key role in more than nine hotel openings in addition to the opening of the five-star Conrad Cairo in Egypt.

Brandy Bechthold is joining Omni Hotel at CNN Center as director of catering.  Prior to arriving in Atlanta, Bechthold served as the director of catering at Loews Philadelphia Hotel since the hotel's opening in 2000.  Her experience also includes the position of director of catering at the Inverness Hotel and Golf Club's Conference Center in Denver, and as director of catering and conference services at the Wyndham Bel Age Hotel in West Hollywood, Calif.  She resides in Vinings, Ga.

Mark Galvin and David Sidler have been named national sales managers where they will oversee National Corporate region and Washington DC Associations respectively. 

Galvin joins the Omni Hotel team from the Emory Conference Center Hotel in Atlanta where he was national accounts manager, and prior to that he spent 13 years with Hyatt Hotels and Resorts.  He resides in Tucker, Ga.

Sidler served in several positions over seven years with Marriott International Inc. including director of national accounts and senior sales manager, prior to his position with the Omni Hotel. Sidler entered the hospitality industry following four years in the United States Navy. He resides in Marietta, Ga.

A 600-room, 28-story hotel tower will open adjacent to the existing 15-story Omni Hotel, which recently underwent an extensive $9 million renovation.  The combined hotel and tower will feature 1,067 guest rooms and more than 120,000 square feet of meeting space - including a 19,864-square-foot ballroom with floor-to-ceiling windows overlooking Centennial Olympic Park.  The new tower will also include three hospitality suites, ten parlor suites and several room suites.
