BUFFALO, N.Y. 2003 Delaware North Companies Parks & Resorts has received the 2002 National Park Service (NPS) Environmental Achievement Award for its work at Grand Canyon, Sequoia and Yosemite national parks. The NPS honor represents the fourth time that GreenPath earned an award for 2002. The Travel Industry Association of America (TIA) bestowed upon Delaware North an Odyssey Award, calling the companys environmental initiatives an over-the-top, significant accomplishment. In addition, Delaware North was the recipient of the 2002 Governors Environmental and Economic Leadership Award from the state of California, and received an honorable mention from the U.S. Department of Interior in its Environmental Achievement Awards.

A passion for environmental preservation is part of our culture, said Bruce W. Brad Anderholm Appointed Vice President Of Operations

YOSEMITE NATIONAL PARK, Calif. June 11, 2003 Yosemite Concession Services Corporation (YCS), the hospitality management company that oversees visitor services in Yosemite National Park, has appointed Brad Anderholm to its management team.

Brad Anderholm comes to Yosemite with more than 25 years hospitality management experience with hotels, resorts and free-standing restaurants. In his new role, he is responsible for overseeing Yosemites 1,500 overnight guest accommodations, 19 retail outlets and 22 food and beverage facilities.  Anderholm also supervises guest recreation and transportation services throughout the park.

Most recently Corporate Director of Food and Beverage at Crestline Hotels and Resorts in Atlanta, Ga., Anderholm directed more than 40 food and beverage operations throughout the country and handled approximately $80 million in food and beverage revenue.  Prior to Crestline, Anderholm was the Director of Operations and Chief Financial Officer for the Buckhead Life Restaurant Group, overseeing 10 different high-end restaurants for nine years.

Brads knowledge of culinary and service concepts, combined with his financial expertise, will be very useful as we prepare for the review and hopefully renewal of our concessionaire contract with the National Park Service, said Kevin Kelly, YCS Chief Operating Officer and Anderholms immediate supervisor.

Anderholm has also served in multiple executive roles within resort properties, specifically the Callaway Gardens Resort in Georgia and Floridas Amelia Island Plantation.  He is a graduate of Gustavus-Adolphus College in St. Peter, Minn. and the Culinary Institute of America in Hyde Park, N.Y.

leaking underground storage tanks put in place by a previous concessionaire. The project is near completion, with 28 of the 31 sites requiring no further action.

That effort and many like it gave rise to GreenPath and the desire by associates to take an unprecedented step for a U.S. hospitality company: registration of GreenPath to the ISO 14001 standard established by the International Organization for Standardization. During 2001, Delaware North successfully registered GreenPath at five properties to this internationally recognized benchmark for environmental leadership: Yosemite, Sequoia and Grand Canyon national parks, Asilomar State Beach & Conference Grounds in Pacific Grove, Calif., and Delaware Norths central reservations office in Fresno, Calif. In early 2002, the company-owned resort, Tenaya Lodge, also was registered to the ISO 14001 standard. All other properties, as well as the companys corporate headquarters in Buffalo, N.Y., will have their environmental management systems registered in 2003.

Key elements of Delaware Norths award-winning GreenPath program include the establishment of green teams at each location, incorporation of environmental considerations and sustainable practices into all business decisions, using environmentally friendly cleaning products, institution of comprehensive waste reduction and recycling programs, and implementing associate and guest awareness initiatives promoting stewardship.

When Delaware North assumed the management of visitor services at Yosemite National Park in 1993, it quickly became known in the industry for its innovative environmental practices and management style. With stewardship as its mantra, the company has developed and implemented a comprehensive, award-winning environmental management program, GreenPath, which has earned registration through the International Organization for Standardization (ISO) for six Delaware North locations. Companies worldwide have received ISO 14001 registration, but Delaware North is the first in the hospitality industry to demonstrate its commitment to preserving precious natural resources through such a rigorous and formal process.

Today, the company continues its leadership position with national and state parks, but also has expanded its presence with a greater emphasis on hospitality and entertainment. While Delaware North has always managed hotels and resorts within client venues, the company became a hotel owner in its own right when it purchased Tenaya Lodge, a premier four-diamond resort in northern California, and Harrison Hot Springs Resort & Spa, a world-class resort near Vancouver, British Columbia. With $300 million in annual revenue, 3,700 guest rooms and 5,000 associates, Delaware North has established itself as a leading hospitality company, changing its name in 2003 from Delaware North Parks Services to Delaware North Companies Parks & Resorts to better reflect the scope of its operations and to build on the reputation of Delaware North Companies, Inc., its parent company.
