Signature Renders Customer Service
Solution for Wyandot Lake
.
Columbus, Ohio (June 4, 2003) - Signature, Inc. (Dublin, OH), a leader in providing business and training solutions guaranteed to maximize revenue for clients, delivered customer service training to over 300 employees of Six Flags subsidiary water park Wyandot Lake, (Columbus, OH).  The training course was appropriately named, Ride the Wave to Legendary Service a name an employee of Signature suggested after experiencing the thrill of Wyandot Lake with her children over many years.

The training took place at a hotel on three separate occasions.  There were nearly 100 park employees, mostly high school and college age at each training consisting of admissions-ticket agents, lifeguards, food, game and rental concessionaires and ride operators.

We wanted to be able to compete with other family-themed parks.  At Wyandot Lake, one way we felt we could compete was to deliver an exceptional customer service experience for our park guests that would be memorable and definitely would not go unnoticed.  Were aiming for a Disney-like guest service atmosphere.  Having Signature conduct customer service training for our employees was the obvious solution to creating this competitive edge, said Andy Cloyd, Human Resource Manager, Wyandot Lake.

Signature trainer, Barry Himmel, Executive Vice President of New Market Development said, I was impressed with how the Wyandot employees embraced these skills.  These employees see the value and importance of consistently exceeding guests expectations.  They want the guests to return to Wyandot. Other Signature representatives aided Barry in performing skits portraying real-life customer experiences the employees might encounter.  Barry introduced the word legendary into the culture of Wyandot and into each of Wyandots employees vocabulary.  They now know how to make a legendary impression on park guests.

At the end of each training session, employees in attendance each received an I Rode The Wave To Legendary Guest Service t-shirt.  Were encouraging our staff to wear these shirts every Friday as part of their uniform just to remind them how important their newly acquired guest service skills are, said Andy Cloyd, Wyandot Lake.

Each day before the park opens, Wyandot Lake awards a Legendary Guest Service Employee of the Day.  Employees earn Splash Cash good towards an end of the summer auction for prizes.  Two future classes are planned for park management and international students who work at the park.
