By the Sea, Marriott Hotel & Spa opens this Spring with a full complement
of resort-style facilities, including a 10,000 sf. Spa. Jeraldine Hoffman,
MTh. is the new Director of the state-of-the-art Spa and its staff of 40,
according to Tom Varley, VP Ocean Properties, who made the announcement.
Ms. Hoffman is a Certified Holistic Health Educator, Licensed Massage Therapist and Certified Kripalu Yoga Instructor. She studied Ayurveda with Dr. Pratima Raicher and Dr. John Doulliard. Most recently she served as Director of Spa Operations, WTS International for whom she designed Cliff House Spa. Prior to that, she was Massage and Body Therapies Director at Canyon Ranch in the Berkshires Lenox, MA where she created the "Euphoria" treatment, and was Services Director for New Age Health Spa in Neversink, NY. In her 12-year career she has trained staffs at the Greenhouse, Dallas; Canyon Ranch, Arizona; The Claremont, San Francisco; Belladonna, New Orleans; and the Omega Institute, Rhinebeck NY. Quoted in major publications including the Washington Post, Self, Cooking Light, Glamour, Massage Magazine, and Day Spa, Ms. Hoffman is also a Visiting Instructor of Complimentary Care for Berkshire Community College, Ulster County Community College and others. "Jeraldine Hoffman is a tremendous asset to the Spa component of Wentworth By the Sea," said Varley. "She brings outstanding credentials, industry recognition and leadership to the role and will certainly develop a unique and signature experience for Wentworth Spa guests that will contribute to the restoration of the Wentworth as one of the grand hotels of America." The Spa, which occupies the entirely new East wing of the Wentworth, is dedicated to enhancing guests' health and appearance through a comprehensive menu of therapies and treatments for hotel and Day Spa guests. The Spa Facilities incorporate The Exercise Studio and indoor pool with 2 co-ed whirlpools and an attached outdoor patio The men's and women's locker rooms each feature a steam room, and personal amenities. The Spa's "relaxation room" serves complimentary beverages to guests preparing for treatments and even provides nap facilities for those between appointments. Wentworth By the Sea, A Marriott Hotel & Spa, incorporates 161 luxurious guestrooms and suites (including two bi-level suites and a tri-level suite in the original Victorian towers), a wide verandah with its view of the sea, historic gardens, an outdoor pool terrace, casual marina restaurant, the Dining Room, Spa and 11,500 sf.
