"Check-in" to Check Out
The MSI WinPM Wireless Hand-held Solution

-
Phoenix, Arizona - (April 10, 2002) Multi-Systems, Inc. (MSI), an Integrated Technology leader in Property Management Systems for the lodging industry, in a joint effort with Symbol Technologies, Inc. and VingCard a.s., has successfully installed their new WinPM Wireless hand-held solution.  The initial installation at the Lodging Enterprises Oak Tree Inn located in Green River, WY, and was completed February 2002.

Lodging Enterprises properties are primarily situated near railroad stations and specialize in catering to railroad industry personnel.  The WinPM Wireless solution is uniquely applicable at the Oak Tree Inn, as the property has a campus-like layout of the rooms, says Kim Stahr, General Manager of the Oak Tree Inn. Guests are not required to stop at the front-desk, but are simply checked-in through a corporate lodging card with the WinPM Wireless unit aboard the ride from the train station. They are saved from check-in counter lines, protected from weather elements, thus allowing a direct arrival at their room.  As a result, guest processing is streamlined, hassle-free, increases guest satisfaction and operates more cost effectively.

The Wireless hand-held devices, made by Symbol Technologies, and room key encoding technology, from VingCard, enables the user to obtain authorizations and encode room keys on the spot. Other prime functions of the WinPM Wireless unit are: print registration card, print room directions, check-out guest with balance to credit card or direct bill, change payment method, add additional authorizations, and print folio.

Our first installation has been a complete success with all systems fully operational said Brian Primeau, Vice President of New Business Development, MSI. Future WinPM Wireless enhancements already being charted out include multiple folio registration, multiple folio creation upon check-in, and change of payment method with direct bill look-up. In addition, the MSIs wireless unit will allow charges to be posted to a guest folio at any location on the property and a walk-in registration feature will be added. Installation of MSIs WinPM Wireless solution will continue at 20 additional Lodging Enterprises locations over the next  twelve (12) months.
