Regional Inns Widen Appeal to Corporate
Clients from Around the U.S.

MCLEAN, VA, March, 2002 - SynXis Corporation announced today that they are connecting a number of McIntosh Inns, a regional chain of inns located in Pennsylvania, New Jersey, and Delaware, to SynXis' GDS Connectivity and Book-A-Rez to increase reservations for corporate clients  and leisure travelers .  After thorough research and data comparison of many service providers, management at the McIntosh Inns selected SynXis Agent.

GDS Connectivity will help the lodging chain pursue new corporate accounts that reserve rooms through travel agents by providing detailed hotel information and being more accessible to corporate travel arrangers.  Since switching to SynXis, their appeal has broadened throughout the United States.   The chain is planning to expand its visibility to leisure  travelers , which is dependent on further penetration of all distribution channels, including reservations through Internet travel Web sites and the McIntosh Inn Web site.

"The markets in which we compete are crowded, and SynXis Agent has given us increased visibility to potential clients in those markets," said Mike Dorough, Operations Manager of the McIntosh Inns.  "Initial GDS bookings are coming in at a faster rate than we had forecasted.  The best news, though, is that the majority of the bookings have been through travel agents across the country and internationally with whom we had not done business previously.  This has given

Book-A-Rez
  • Consumer Internet Booking Engine
  • Accesses Real-Time Availability
  • Link from Hotel or Chain's Web Site for Bookability
  • Hotel Logo Flow-Through
  • Unlimited Room Types and Rate Plans
Through the Book-A-Rez Internet booking link, consumers can book hotel rooms directly from a property's Web site in real time. The background and logos from the site are used in Book-A-Rez so that customers do not realize they are using a third party booking engine. While other web sites only allow users to make new reservations, Book-A-Rez offers consumers the ability to modify and cancel existing reservations on-line, virtually eliminating the need for multiple calls and miscommunication with your agents. Because guests appreciate the ease and convenience of Book-A-Rez, you gain customer loyalty -- and a competitive edge over other properties.
us revenue we would not have had without our GDS connection.  Visitors from all over the country and the world will now be able to research our properties and make reservations through electronic channels, including the Internet and soon, our Web site."

"Prior to using SynXis' GDS connection, we were relying on name recognition in local markets.  We did our homework and researched many of the top reservation providers in the industry; Synxis is proving to be an attractive cost/benefit solution for  reaching our target  markets," Dorough added "SynXis was founded to serve the need in the hospitality industry for state-of-the-art, low-cost reservation management technology," said Phil Saims, National Sales Director at SynXis.  "Our clients such as the McIntosh Inns are proving this to be true.   Our products bring long-term cost-saving benefits to independent hotel chains like McIntosh because it's easy to manage all of their properties from a single, Internet-ready computer, there are low up-front expenditures, and potential guests can view room availability immediately."
