Already the awards have a section that allows only one winner under the prestigious category of "Best Hotel in the World" this has been won two years in a row by the only seven star hotel in the world, the stunning Burj Al Arab in Dubai. The new section will be entitled the "Best Hotel in Asia Pacific" and will also only allow one winner, in what is sure to be a highly sought after accolade. Burj Al Arab is part of The Jumeirah Beach Resort, situated 17km south of the city of Dubai. Soaring 321 metres, Burj Al Arab towers above the renowned Jumeirah Beach Hotel and Wild Wadi Water Park. This unique billowing sail-shaped building stands on a man-made island some 280 metres offshore, linked to the mainland by a slender, gently curving  causeway.

"For this reason we have established a new section that will truly allow us to see who is the best hotel in the Asia Pacific region as seen by our viewers and ultimately the existing or potential clients of the hotels."

When asked why the Burj Al Arab in Dubai seemed to win so convincingly the title of "Best Hotel in the World" Steven Howard responded "It is an amazing hotel, a technological wonder, but winning the award I feel has more to it than that. I feel that the hotel has created more than amazing dwelling for those that can afford the best, but has also created a landmark to which people in Dubai and the Middle East can be proud, and this I am sure has an effect on the outcome of the awards."
