  For the First Time in Years, Hyatt Hotels
Switching Guestroom Bath Amenities;
New Line is Portico Verbena

CHICAGO-- June 13, 2000- Suds, bubbles, lather and moisturizing will be top priority on Hyatt's list of guest services and amenities this summer. For the first time in years, Hyatt hotels nationwide will introduce new bath and body products. Shampoo, conditioner, bath gel, soaps and moisturizing lotion from the luxury Portico Verbena line will compliment each guestroom. Park Hyatt properties will be outfitted with Global Waterman/Marietta amenities.

"Bath amenities play a significant role in what a guest takes away or remembers from his or her stay," said Norm Canfield, vice president of rooms division, Hyatt Hotels Corporation. "The Portico product lends itself to the high-end product Hyatt has always provided its customers and we have no doubt they'll be beyond satisfied with the Verbena line."

Hyatt is no stranger to in-room pampering. This summer's amenity overhaul comes on the heels of brand new, larger towels in all guestrooms. Additionally, Hyatt introduced new bedding and linens in many properties and has plans for further linen upgrades.

Verbena offers a light and neutral non-gender scent that all guests will find appealing. In fact, Hyatt will offer a Portico catalog in-room for guests to order a variety of scents and products. Currently, Portico has eight stores in New York, Chicago and Boston. In addition to upscale bath and body products, the stores offer home furnishing and linen lines.

"There's more than meets the eye to bathroom amenities - it's not just a matter of providing guests with a bar of soap. Portico Verbena is a perfect line that offers a refreshing, mild experience for skin and hair," said Peter Lacey, director of national accounts for Hunter Amenities International Ltd., a licensed manufacturer of Portico Personal Care products. "This partnership is a wonderful opportunity for Portico and allows millions of travelers who visit Hyatt properties each year to have a truly unique luxury amenity experience."

There are 202 Hyatt hotels and resorts around the world. Hyatt Hotels Corporation operates 121 hotels and resorts in the U.S., Canada and the Caribbean. Hyatt International, through its subsidiaries, operates 81 hotels and resorts in 38 countries.
