Peter H. Schall Named Senior Vice President - 
Hawaii Region for Hilton Hotels Corp.

 
BEVERLY HILLS, Calif. - April 16, 2001 - Peter H. Schall has been named senior vice president - Hawaii region for Hilton Hotels Corp., according to Dieter H. Huckestein, executive vice president - Hilton Hotels Corp. and president - hotel operations, owned and managed. 

Schall, who most recently held the position of area vice president - Hilton Resorts Hawaii, will continue to serve as managing director of the 2,998-room Hilton Hawaiian Village Beach Resort and Spa, the largest property in the company�s chain of 1,900 hotels. 

�Peter Schall has become a fixture in Hawaii�s lodging industry,� Huckestein said. �From overseeing all Hilton Hotels Corp. properties in the state to serving on the Board of the Hawaii Tourism Authority, Peter has demonstrated a leadership style that generates tremendous loyalty to our Hawaii resorts amongst our customers, team members, and the community as a whole. He richly deserves this promotion.� 

In addition to the Hilton Hawaiian Village Beach Resort and Spa, where the
453-room Kalia Tower opens next month along with the state-of-the-art
Holistica Hawaii Health Center and world-renowned Mandara Spa later this
summer, Schall has first-line supervisory responsibility for the Hilton at Turtle
Bay Resort, Hilton Waikoloa Village and the Doubletree Alana Waikiki Hotel. 

After graduating from the School of Hotel and Restaurant Administration in Bad Ueberkingen, Schall left his native Germany to hone his skills in France, Texas and New York. He joined the Hilton Washington in 1965, and eventually became director of catering and food and beverage at the hotel. In 1980, he was named resident manager of the Palmer House Hilton in Chicago, where he supervised the hotel�s massive renovation project. 

He was promoted to general manager of the Hilton Seattle Airport in 1982, and later managed the Hilton Pasadena before being named general manager of the Hilton Hawaiian Village in 1986. During his tenure at the landmark resort, he supervised the $100 million master plan renovation, Return To Paradise, and more recently the $95 million Kalia Tower construction scheduled to open
May 16, 2001 at the beachfront resort. Schall became the area director of Hilton Resorts Hawaii in 1994.
