SRS-WORLDHOTELS Appoints Four New Directors of  Sales 
NEW YORK, NY � December 11, 2000 � In 2000, SRS-WORLDHOTELS, a hotel consortium offering sales, marketing and reservations support to nearly 400 independent hotels spanning 65 countries, appointed four new directors of sales and member services in their New York, Chicago and São Paolo, Brazil sales offices.  This year has also marked a time of substantial growth for SRS-WORLDHOTELS.  A total of 41 new member properties will be added to the portfolio of diverse independent hotels by January 2001.  As of September 2000, the consortium has seen a 35 percent increase in room nights in North and South America as compared to the same period in 1999. 

Following are details on the new employees:

Kevin Barreto was appointed director of sales and marketing in SRS-WORLDHOTELS� sales office in São Paolo, Brazil in August.  His primary responsibilities include managing the consortium�s activities and generating increased sales and brand perception in the Brazilian market.  Prior to his current position, Barreto worked at a travel agency in São Paolo and spent a few years at United Airlines� GSA�s (general sales agents) where he worked as a reservations agent, a ticket agent and as a supervisor for the reservations department.  He also spent seven years at American Airlines where he worked as an International Sales Representative.  During his tenure at American, he was in charge of the department that contributed to the successful implementation of the AAdvantage/Credicard affinity program in Brazil.  He also managed the airline�s Call Center in São Paolo, the largest outside of the U.S., making it the top ranking Call Center for Mexico, the Caribbean and Latin America.  Barreto has a degree in Business Administration and earlier this year he received a Masters in Marketing.

Daniel Melchiorre was named director of member services for the Americas in July.  In his current role in the New York office, Melchiorre works with various member hotels and acts as their primary liaison within SRS-WORLDHOTELS.  Prior to his current position, he was revenue manager for the Boutique Hotel Group in New York where, among his numerous responsibilities, he developed and managed the Central Reservations Office for the deluxe hotel chain.  He has also worked as a reservations manager at the Roger Williams Hotel in New York City and was guest service supervisor at The Snowmass Lodge and Club in Aspen, CO.  In 1992, Melchiorre received a BS in Hotel and Restaurant Management from Widener University in Philadelphia, PA.

Edward Perry, director of sales for the Northeast region, was hired by SRS in May.  While working out of the New York office, Perry is responsible for overseeing consortium�s relationship with various companies and clients in the Northeast region.  Since 1988, Perry has worked in a wide variety of travel and restaurant management positions.  Most recently, he was project manager at Macy�s where he was responsible for the selection, purchase and implementation of a travel management software.  Prior to that, Perry was general manager at �Cyberworld Café�, an internet café in San Francisco.  Not only did he manage the well-publicized café for two years, he conceptualized and developed the project and created promotional materials for radio and TV.  He has also worked in a number of positions at hotels in the San Francisco area including the Executive Suites, the Howard Johnson Hotel at Fisherman�s Wharf, the Ramada Hotel at Fisherman�s Wharf and the San Francisco Hilton.  In 1988, Perry received a Bachelor of Arts in International Business and German from Schiller International University in Heidelberg, Germany.  He is currently working towards a degree in Certified Training and Human Resources Management from the University of California at Berkeley.

Margaret Watson was appointed regional director of sales for the Midwest region in Fall 2000.  Based in Chicago, her responsibilities include overseeing the consortium�s relationship with various companies and clients in the Midwest region.  Prior to joining SRS-WORLDHOTELS� sales team, she was director of corporate travel for the Sheraton Gateway Suites O�Hare in Chicago, IL.  Prior to that, she was a senior sales manager at the Sheraton Suites in Elk Grove Village, IL. Watson has also been a director of sales at the Holiday Inn Express, Arlington Heights, IL and the Radisson Schaumburg, Schaumburg, IL.  She graduated from Elmhurst College in Elmhurst, IL.
