RCI and Springer-Miller Systems Building New
Timeshare Sales / Marketing and Timeshare Club
Automation System
Stowe, VT, July 18, 2000 - Springer-Miller Systems, Inc. (SMS) and Resort Condominiums International, LLC. (RCI), today announced that they have signed final agreements to develop an enterprise-wide timeshare resort automation system.  Key elements of the relationship include the following highlights:
  • SMS has entered Cendants exclusive vendor program (Preferred Alliance Group) as RCIs exclusive timeshare resorts, property-level integrated systems vendor.
  • RCI and SMS have signed a worldwide master relationship agreement, which will enable the two companies to work together on projects in more than 90 countries.
  • SMS is acquiring all assets of Resort Computer Corporation (RCC), including the facilities located in Lakewood, Colorado, which will become SMSs third largest operation and R&D facility in the United States.  Also included in the acquisition are the variety of software products, licenses and support agreements currently managed by RCC.
SMS is also acquiring all of the RCC-related assets currently managed by RCI Europe in the United Kingdom. SMS will open an office in Kettering, England later this month, which will become the regional SMS headquarters for Europe, Middle East, and Africa.  With a large international presence already established in the Asia/Pacific region via its Asia/Pacific regional headquarters in Kuala Lumpur, the Kettering office will further the aggressive international expansion SMS has undertaken in recent years.  Nearly all of the existing RCC staff in Colorado and the U.K. are joining SMS as part of this acquisition.

RCCs customers contracts will be honored by SMS. Both RCI and SMS are committed to maintaining RCC product offerings while pursuing future strategies, said John Springer-Miller, President and CEO of Springer-Miller Systems.

RCI has also entered into a significant software development agreement with SMS to build new Timeshare Sales/Marketing and Timeshare Club functionality. These new modules of the SMS|Host suite of products will be completely integrated with RCIs central exchange systems, including the Global Points NetworkSM.  The fully integrated system is scheduled for release in 2001, and is expected to set a new standard for the resort industry.

RCI Management (RCIM) has signed a management company licensing agreement with SMS to license RCC and future SMS products for more than 40 properties.

RCI is the worlds leading timeshare-exchange company with more than 3,600 affiliated resorts in 93 countries. In 1999, RCI booked more than 2 million exchanges, sending an estimated 7.5 million people on vacation. As a single-source resource of integrated timeshare solutions, the companys services include feasibility analysis, market research, technological support and lead-generation strategies along with club development and operations. RCI is a subsidiary of Cendant Corp. (NYSE:CD), a global provider of consumer and business services.
