WASHINGTON, May 26 - Marriott International,
Inc. (NYSE: MAR) recently recognized top companies that franchise
and own Marriott select-service and extended-stay hotels at the company�s
Annual Owners Conference held in San Francisco. White Lodging Services
Corporation received the highly regarded Partnership Circle Award for exemplifying
Marriott�s vision of hospitality excellence.
| Based in Merrillville, Ind., White Lodging Services Corporation has
been a Marriott franchisee for nine years and was the first two-time winner
of the Partnership Circle Award. The Partnership Circle Award recognizes
a franchise company that ranks among the top 10 in guest satisfaction scores
for each of its Marriott brands, is committed to excellence in associate
satisfaction, has at least five Marriott hotels opened, and operates hotels
in three of the five select-service and extended-stay brands.
Also recognized was CSM Corporation, named the �2000 Developer of the
Year� for its aggressive development of Marriott�s five select-service
and extended-stay brands. CSM Corporation is headquartered in Minneapolis,
Minn., and has been a Marriott franchisee for three years. |
White Lodging Services Corp.
White Lodging Services became a reality in 1985 with it's
first hotel, now Radisson at Star Plaza in Merrillville, Indiana. By 1990
we were managing 5 hotels, equaling 1,060 rooms, and opened the very FIRST
Fairfield Inn by Marriott franchise. In 1991 WLS finished the year with
9 hotels, totaling 1,496 rooms.
Ever since it's formation, White Lodging Services has
been a company of "firsts". We were granted the very "first" Marriott
Fairfield Inn franchise, the "first" to house a T.G.I. Friday's in a hotel,
and the "first" to operate 4 different Marriott franchise products!
In 1995 WLS was one of the initial recipients of the "Marriott Partnership
Circle Award". White Lodging Services also had the pleasure of receiving
the Courtyard and Fairfield Inn by Marriott, Hotel of the Year, along with
the General Manager of the Year for Residence Inn...and we are not finished
yet!
What was once a hotel management company with 9 hotels
has blossomed into "Marriott's Perfect Fit Franchise Partner", managing
59 hotels and 2 T.G.I Friday's restaurants, by the end of 1999. The
states we currently manage hotels in are Colorado, Florida, Illinois, Indiana,
Michigan, Tennessee, Texas and Utah. |

Campbell Motel Properties of Brea, Calif., for Fairfield Inn; CSM Corporation
