Los Angeles, CA, May 10, 2000 -- Graphic Systems
International, Inc., (GSI) of Greensboro, NC, recently completed a contract
with Starwood Hotels and Resorts Worldwide, Inc. to provide exterior identity
and interior signage for the renovation of the Westwood Marquis Hotel to
the W Los Angeles located in the Westwood area of Los Angeles, CA.
GSIs challenge with this W brand conversion
was to produce a signage design package that was agreeable to the owner
and their design team as well as the local architectural review board,
said Rob Kisstoth, Jr., President of Graphic Systems. The W graphic
concept does not rely on mass produced brand signage as an identity solution.
Rather, the graphic identity must mirror the unique design concept that
unfolds with the development of each property. GSI is specifically positioned
with a team of experts on staff to control unique identity projects that
are becoming a trend in the hospitality industry.
In addition to exterior signage GSI provided all public space room ID
and directional signage as well as fire evacuation plans |

for the corridors and guestrooms. As an added service to its client, GSI
coordinated the interior sign systems code compliance issues with the
Los Angeles, CA Fire Department. Kisstoth added We have found this complete
service adds considerable value to our products, and helps smooth the progress
of complex projects like this for our client.
