Rob Wilson, Currently VP North American Development for 
Best Western International, Inc., Named President 
at GuestHouse International Franchise Systems
ATLANTA March 15, 2000 -- GuestHouse International Franchise Systems, a subsidiary of Suburban Lodges of America, Inc., announced today that Rob Wilson, currently Vice President North American Development for best Western International, Inc., will join the company as its new president, succeeding founder Jim Keet. Mr. Keet announced that he would be leaving the company in late spring so that he can remain in Little Rock and pursue other interests there.

In making the announcement, Greg Plank, Suburban Lodges� President, said, �Getting a person with Rob�s development and operating experience is a great happening for the GuestHouse International brand and our franchisees. Rob adds a new dimension to our gro wth strategy of being the most franchisee friendly name in hospitality. I have worked with Rob in the past and have known him for many years so I know that he brings with him from Best Western great enthusiasm and a strong sense of fairness for franchisees. Rob is a well-known and respected hotel executive with a multitude of innovative ideas about brand growth and brand equity for our franchise partners. He is the perfect choice to continue the spirit and growth of the GuestHouse International concept.� 

In accepting the position, Rob Wilson stated, �This is a natural progression for me. I have been completely committed to the principles of fairness and individual service toward the licensees who are the key to a successful brand. We will grow GuestHouse International with fair franchise terms, innovative franchise services and marketing programs in partnership with operators who recognize the benefits of being a part of an organization that truly wants them to win in their marketplace.� 

David Krischer, CEO of Suburban Lodges, said, �When we purchased GuestHouse International, we were drawn by a brand that offered a different kind of franchise in a changing franchise world. Rob�s character, background and enthusiasm for growing this kind of system are impressive. Jim Keet created an innovative concept for today�s franchisee and while we are disappointed to see him go, we are confident that Rob is the person to lead that concept and system into the future.� 

Mr. Wilson has held key development and management positions at Best Western International and Ramada. He is a 25-year veteran of the hotel industry who began his career operating franchised hotels. Mr. Wilson is a native of Oklahoma and a graduate of Oklahoma City University.  Rob has also served as President of the Arizona Licensor/Franchisor Association and member of the Franchisee Relations Committee of the International Franchise Association. 

Suburban Lodges of America, Inc. owns, franchises and manages Suburban Lodge hotels, the nation�s largest chain of economy extended-stay hotels, and franchises and manages GuestHouse International hotels, the mid-market nightly-stay hotel chain with the franchisee friendly agreement. At December 31, 1999, 46 GuestHouse International hotels were in operation and an additional 26 hotels were in various stages of development.
