DENVER � January 3, 2000 - Destination Hotels & Resorts,
manager of 22 independent, luxury hotels and resorts nationwide, recently
appointed Allen G. Goodman and David Renker to expand the company�s leadership
in hotel sales and marketing.
Goodman was named regional vice president of sales and marketing for the East Coast and is based at The Monarch Hotel in Washington, D.C. Renker was named regional vice president of sales and marketing for the West Coast and is based at The Argent Hotel in San Francisco, Calif. Goodman brings an exceptional background to DH&R, most recently as the director of sales and marketing at the Westin Innisbrook Resort in Palm Harbor, Florida. There, Goodman was responsible for reorganizing and directing sales and marketing operations and led efforts that contributed to increasing occupancy and improving REVPAR significantly over the previous year. Prior, Goodman held several operations and marketing positions in the hotel industry, including assistant general manager at the Carmel Valley Ranch Resort in Carmel, Calif.; director of sales and marketing for SaddleRidge at Beaver Creek in Colo.; and director of sales and marketing for Lansdowne Conference Resort in Leesburg, VA. Goodman has a Bachelor of Science degree from the University of Nevada, Las Vegas, and belongs to several industry organizations including the Hospitality Sales and Marketing Association, of which he is a former chapter president. In addition to The Monarch Hotel in Washington, DC, Goodman will oversee the sales and marketing efforts of all DH&R�s East Coast hotels, including Palm Coast Resort in Palm Coast, Fla; Eden Roc Resort & Spa in Miami Beach, Fla; and Wild Dunes Resort in Charleston, SC. Renker also brings an exceptional hotel marketing background to DH&R, most recently as area director of sales and marketing with Starwood Hotels & Resorts and The Westin St. Francis in San Francisco. Renker was primarily responsible for the sales and marketing function at The Westin St. Francis, which will achieve record revenues in 1999. He also had oversight for several Starwood Hotels in the San Francisco Bay Area, including The Westin Santa Clara, The Westin San Francisco Airport Complex and The �W� Hotel. Prior, Renker held the position of director of sales and marketing at several well-known hotels, including the Westin Mission Hills Resort in Rancho Mirage, Calif.; The Waterford Hotel in Oklahoma City, Okla.; and La Quinta Hotel Golf & Tennis Resort in La Quinta, Calif. Renker has a Bachelor of Arts degree in marketing and an associates degree in business from San Diego State University, and belongs to several industry organizations including the Hospitality Sales and Marketing Association International (HSMAI) and the Professional Conference Management Association (PCMA). In addition to The Argent Hotel in San Francisco, Renker will oversee the marketing and sales efforts at all DH&R West Coast hotels and resorts, including Tenaya Lodge at Yosemite in Yosemite, Calif.; Sunriver Resort in Sunriver, Ore.; The Hotel del Coronado in San Diego, Calif.; and L�Auberge Del Mar Resort and Spa in Del Mar, Calif. Destination Hotels & Resorts, the hospitality subsidiary of Los
Angeles-based Lowe Enterprises, manages 22 independent, luxury hotels and
resorts nationwide featuring three full service spas, 10 golf courses and
more than 6,000 guestrooms.
