Parsippany, N.J., October 14, 1998 -- Super 8 Motels, Inc.
announces the formation of its Managers Advisory Board, comprised solely
of the General Managers who manage the chain�s motels. The Board is designed
to allow an exchange of ideas, facilitate communication and keep management
apprised of issues and concerns. The board is the first of its kind in
the hospitality industry and is expected to foster system-wide productivity.
"With the addition of the Managers Advisory Board, we now have
complete input from all the groups that make up the Super 8
chain," said, Robert N. Weller, Super 8 Motels president and ceo. "The
owners provide input on overall operations issues, and the general managers�
contribution involve the day-to-day operations."
Managers were nominated by the Super 8 motel owners and selected
based on their experience and performance from over 200 candidates. Meeting
quarterly, the Board members will serve one-year terms. The winner of the
Super 8 Manager of the Year award will serve a two-year term.
