Hurst, TX- June 1, 1998 - Ibertech, developers of Aloha point-of-sale solutions, today announced that it has won the 1998 Microsoft Certified Solution Provider (MCSP) Award for Best Information Management Solution. The winners were named at an awards banquet at Fusion - '98 in  New Orleans on May 31. Ibertech's director of development, Brent Boyle, accepted the award.

Ibertech's entry was the Aloha ARENA product, which provides a comprehensive touch screen point-of-sale (POS) solution that supports multiple stores and multiple concepts on the same LAN, with configuration and sales data managed from a single database on a single server. The use of Microsoft SQL Server was an integral piece of the system, said Brian Cook, Ibertech's vice president and chief technical officer. "I was glad we could offer Microsoft SQL Server as a solution. It delivered a powerful, scalable database at an affordable price."

The Aloha ARENA solution is broadly applicable to theme parks, sports arenas, airports, malls, and other large sites where multiple restaurant and sales outlets require centralized management. The benefit is that sales data in Microsoft SQL Server is continuously updated to provide real time decision support management. The Aloha ARENA installation at Madison Square Garden, completed this last fall, is the world's largest Microsoft SQL Server-based POS solution running from a single server. "We were confident going into this project with The Garden that we could leverage the proven stability of the Windows NT platform to provide a solution for more than 40 stores (stands) consisting of over 200 terminals on one server," said Cook.

These awards from Microsoft are widely respected by leaders in all industries which provide information solutions, not just those surrounding POS.
