600 N. Atlantic Ave.
Daytona Beach, Florida
4:00 p.m. Sunday.  Reservation requests can also be made online at www.owntheplaza.com or by calling (800) 849-5315.

Prices for the condos will start at $140,000, for a studio unit.  A variety of different floor plans are available, ranging from studios to one bedroom suites.

We are returning the Plaza to its rightful position as the leading hotel in Daytona
Beach.  In the past six years we have spent $50 million restoring and renovating this 100-year-old landmark hotel, said owner Charles Bray.  This spring, our vision for returning true luxury to Daytona Beach continues.  Our splendid ocean views will be matched by luxuriously appointed rooms and suites.

Hotel guests will have option of visiting or buying

Guests visiting the resort will never notice the difference from an operational side, because vacationers will still have the availability to book rooms at the Plaza Resort & Spa, said Doug Kosarek, Senior Vice President of Bray & Gillespie.  They will also be able to own a room in this premier resort that will have been completely renovated to reflect an Old Florida style.

The multi-million dollar transformation of the Plaza into a luxury hotel condo is scheduled to begin later this spring.  As part of the conversion, all of the Plaza rooms will be remodeled to include new interior designs and living areas. Other amenities for guests and owners include access to the 15,000 square-foot Ocean Waters Spa and the resorts onsite gourmet restaurant and lounges.  The Plaza is also home to the largest pool deck recreation area in Daytona Beach.

The renovation of all public areas and the upgrading of rooms will begin in April.  The new facility should be completely remodeled by late summer.   The Plaza, has long been popular both for leisure travelers looking for weekend getaways, along with guests visiting for business purposes.

Its great for a family getaway because it is a full service resort on a unique location on the Worlds Most Famous Beach offering a beach site in the family friendly, no-drive zone as well as direct access to the drive-on beach that made Daytona famous.  In addition, the Plaza appeals to a variety of guests, because it is only a short walk to the convention center, the water park and the entertainment district, said Kosarek.
