Strebel, who formerly served the Hotel Group as senior vice president, sales and marketing, will be responsible for the marketing of Cendant�s eight franchised hotel brands as well as strategic planning, market research, promotions, sales, the TripRewards loyalty program, distribution through all channels and communications.

Among his recent accomplishments, Strebel directed the launch of TripRewards, Cendant�s multibrand loyalty program, which has helped boost systemwide revenue per available room, a key industry performance metric.  He also oversees four distribution channels that deliver more than $1 billion in revenue annually.

During the last two years, Strebel�s team negotiated distribution relationships with all major third-party Internet travel providers, developed a rate parity policy and launched a best rate guarantee to ensure the competitiveness of Cendant�s brand Web sites.  He serves on the company�s Travel Link team, which promotes intercompany travel synergies.

He joined Cendant in February 2001 after serving as vice president of marketing for Omni Hotels in Irving, Texas, where he served for more than a decade in various sales and marketing positions on both a corporate, regional and local basis.

Earlier in his career, he was vice president of sales and marketing for the Florida Hospitality Group of Tampa, Fla., a franchisee of Howard Johnson, Days Inn and Omni hotels, and served Prime Management Inc. of Fairfield, N.J., in various sales and marketing positions in New York and Florida.

Strebel is a 1982 graduate of Hofstra University, Hempstead, N.Y., where he earned a bachelor�s degree in business administration.  He serves on the board of the Travel Industry Association of America, Washington.
