Management for Interstate Hotels & Resorts
ARLINGTON, Va., January 6, 2004 Interstate Hotels & Resorts (NYSE: IHR), the nations largest independent hotel management company, today announced that Terry Alder has rejoined the company as a vice president of operations and Hunter Webster has joined Interstate as a vice president of revenue management.

Terry Alder and Hunter Webster have demonstrated exceptional leadership skills within their respective disciplines, said Steve Jorns, Interstates chief executive officer.  We continue to solidify our core management team, rewarding those employees who have made a meaningful contribution to Interstates success and adding those who we believe have the potential to play a significant role in our future.

A 30-year industry veteran, Alder began his hospitality career as a room service manager at the Hyatt Regency Phoenix.  Between 1985 and 2003, he worked for Interstate Hotels Corporation, Interstate Hotels & Resorts predecessor company, as general manager at a number of leading hotels nationwide, including the 463-room Warner Center Marriott in Woodland Hills, Calif., where he led the hotel to a 120 percent RevPAR index; the 310-room luxury Dallas Marriott in suburban Arlington, Texas, where he increased RevPAR by 38 percent and 22 percent during a two-year stint; and the 315-room Phoenix Embassy Suites North in Arizona.  Most recently, he managed The Kor Hotel Groups 802-room Sheraton Gateway LAX in California, where he oversaw a $14 million renovation.  In his new position, he will oversee the operations of a portfolio of 16 hotels.  He received his bachelors degree in finance and economics from Arizona State University.

Webster brings with him 17 years of hospitality experience with the nations two largest hotel brands.  He joins Interstate from Hilton Hotels Corp., where he was senior director, revenue management for the eastern United States.  Previously, he served 14 years with Marriott International, where he rose from reservation manager at the Long Island Marriott to senior manager, revenue analysis and strategy-lodging revenue management.  He received an MBA in marketing and organizational behavior from The George Washington University and a bachelors degree in business administration from Strayer University.

Interstate Hotels & Resorts operates more than 300 hospitality properties with nearly 67,000 rooms in 42 states, the District of Columbia, Canada and Russia.  BridgeStreet Corporate Housing Worldwide, an Interstate Hotels & Resorts subsidiary, is one of the worlds largest corporate housing providers, offering upscale, fully furnished corporate housing throughout the United States, Canada, the United Kingdom, France and 39 additional countries through its network partners.
