Sean Maddock Appointed Vice President and
General Manager of  279-room Claremont
Resort & Spa in Berkeley, CA

BERKELEY, CA - February 4, 2004 - Sean Maddock has been appointed Vice President and General Manager of the historic 279-room Claremont Resort & Spa in Berkeley, CA.  In his new position, Maddock oversees all day-to-day operations. 
Maddock brings a wealth of experience and knowledge to this position, having worked at numerous luxury resorts and hotels internationally.  Most recently he spent three years as a Hotel Manager with Shangri La Hotels and Resorts in Bangkok, Thailand, Manila and Hong Kong.

Maddock launched his hotel career with Hyatt Hotels and Resorts, where he spent nine years, mostly in Hawaii, in various management positions.   Following his stint with Hyatt, he moved to Arizona as Director of Rooms with the Boulders Resort in Carefree.  He then worked in Los Angeles where he was Director of Rooms at the Westin Century Plaza Hotel & Spa.  Maddock holds a Bachelor of Arts, Hotel and Restaurant Administration degree from Washington State University.  He is classically trained as a chef saucier and has 10 years of culinary experience in upscale independent restaurants and hotels in the Pacific West and Alaska.
